Second Annual Hope North Gala
Hope North’s supporters from near and far gathered at City Winery on November 1st to celebrate 16 years of the school’s success and honor Forest Whitaker for his dedication to the students of Hope North and Okello Sam’s mission to promote peace through education.
The room was full of friendship and joy, we were so honored to be joined at the gala by Forest Whitaker, Susan Sarandon, Adrian Grenier, Amanda Fuller, Serinda Swan, Hunter Parrish, Michael Stipe, and Trudie Styler.

Susan Sarandon and Mary-Louise Parker served as lead hosts for the event while Hunter Parrish and Serinda Swan kept the room entertained as co-MCs. The musical entertainment for the evening was truly special with performances from Okello Sam, Fela aKUsTIc, King Mono and an outstanding surprise appearance by Grammy-winner Angelique Kidjo.
The event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors. An extra big thank you goes out to Hope for Humans, Elizabeth Cuthrell & Steve Tuttleman, Starkey Hearing Foundation, Shakti Warriors and Jugular.
Last but not least, Hope North was thrilled to unveil their new logo and tagline, created with boutique creative agency Jugular. We think it’s a winner!
